TUBIKIMA MOBILE WASTE is seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to join our team as Waste Collectors. This is a field-based position responsible for the collection and transportation of solid waste to designated collection &disposal sites. By performing this role, you will contribute directly to maintaining a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment for our community.

Reports to:Waste Management Supervisor/Operations Manager
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect and sort solid waste from designated households, businesses, and public areas according to the assigned schedule and route.
- Safely load waste into collection trucks or other specified vehicles.
- Transport waste to recycling facilities or approved disposal sites.
- Handle waste containers and bins with care, ensuring they are returned to their original location after emptying.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and standard operating procedures.
- Report any issues with collection, such as overflowing bins, blocked access, or vehicle maintenance needs, to the supervisor.
- Wear and use all provided personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
- Maintain a respectful and professional attitude when interacting with members of the public.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: A minimum of Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent is preferred.
- Physical Fitness: The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills are necessary for effective teamwork and public interaction.
- Character: The ideal candidate is punctual, reliable, and has a strong work ethic.
- Experience: Previous experience in waste management or similar manual labor is an added advantage but not a requirement.

We are looking for motivated, responsible, and safety-conscious Tri-cycle Riders to join our team and assist in the collection and transportation of waste.
Key Responsibilities
- Waste Collection: Safely and efficiently operate a tri-cycle (tukutuku) to collect solid waste from designated households, businesses, and collection points according to daily schedule and real-time waste pickup orders.
- Route Adherence: Follow pre-planned routes and maintain consistent service delivery to all customers.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine daily checks on the tri-cycle, including fuel, brakes, lights, and tires, and ensure it is kept clean and tidy.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers professionally and respectfully, addressing any concerns regarding waste collection.
- Compliance: Conform to all company policies, traffic regulations, and environmental management procedures.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records and logbooks, detailing mileage, fuel usage, and waste quantities collected.

Qualifications and Requirements

Job Summary
The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely collection and transportation of various types of waste on designated routes. The role requires a high degree of responsibility, adherence to safety protocols, and proper vehicle maintenance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely and effectively operate garbage and other waste collection trucks on scheduled routes.
- Transport waste materials from collection points to designated disposal or recycling facilities.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues immediately to the supervisor.
- Ensure the truck is properly fueled, lubricated, and maintained to company standards.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of waste as required.
- Follow all traffic laws, company safety guidelines, and environmental regulations at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and collection logs.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, and other team members.

Minimum Requirements

- Knowledge of local traffic rules, regulations, and road networks, particularly within Kampala and its surrounding areas.
- Strong verbal communication skills in English and common local languages.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor troubleshooting and vehicle maintenance.
- Physical ability and stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy items and working in various weather conditions.

About the Role
The Waste Management Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all daily waste collection, sorting, and disposal activities. The successful candidate will ensure that all operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with company standards and Ugandan environmental regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and manage a team of waste collection crews, including drivers and laborers, assigning routes and daily tasks.
- Operational Oversight: Coordinate daily garbage collection schedules for residential and commercial clients, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
